Setup: Outlook 2007
To update your Outlook 2007 client to work with Popmail:
- Open Outlook
- Click Tools > Account Settings...
- Unde the Email tab, click New...
- Choose "Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP"
- Enter your display name, email address (including '@gmail.com'), and password. Google Apps users, enter your full email address, e.g. 'username@your_domain.com.'
- Select the 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types' checkbox.
- Select Internet E-mail
- Settings: name, full email address
- In the Account Type dropdown menu, select POP3; enter the incoming and outgoing server names shown below.
- In the 'User Name' field, enter your full email address
- After creating these settings, click the More Settings... button.
- Click the Outgoing Server tab
- Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
- Choose the first option: "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
- Click the Advanced tab
- Incoming server must be 995, and must use SSL encryption
- Outgoing server must be 587, SSL encryption
- Click OK, Next, then Finish
